Camp Victory
2008 Skills Tracks Information
Note: More information will be updated as programs are finalized. Check back often.
Each camper will choose one Skills Track per week of camp along with all the activities offered at Camp Victory. Skills Tracks meet daily for 10 total hours to gain skill, instruction and even awards for their activity. All tracks are on a first come first serve basis according to their capacities.
Horses $175

Purpose:
Horses are a unique and fun experience for children. Campers will learn how to ride, saddle and groom horses properly. Each camper will be given a level of Horsemanship at the end of the week (Elementary, Intermediate, First Class and Advanced)
Program:
Camp Victory’s Horse Skills Track is outsourced through The Stables Equestrian Center. The Stables Equestrian Center is
a premier commercial equestrian facility located in Rochester, MN.
(www.thestablesequestriancenter.com) The Skills Track will feature WESTERN RIDING. The instructors are CHA certified and there facilities are used by RCTC for their equestrian degree program.
Camp Victory will transport the campers involved in the Horse Skills Track to and from the center each day.
Golf $75

Purpose:
Golf is an excellent sport and activity for children to learn. Through the Golf Skills Track, we emphasize safety, fun, excellence and personal attention. Each camper will learn solid fundamentals in accordance with their own unique physical capabilities. Campers will earn level awards (White, Bronze, Silver and Gold) based on their achievements and effort of different aspects of the game of golf.
Program Synopsis:
Campers will travel together from camp to Zumbro Falls Golf Club. Campers will stay together as a group and take lessons on Monday and Tuesday and participate in course play Wednesday through Friday. We are excited to have a professional level instructor helping us with our Skills Track. Campers will learn the basics of golfing, ethics and rules. There will be a tournament at the end of the week. Campers must bring their own set of golf clubs for the week. The golf course may have some extra clubs available for rent. Camp Victory will supply one set of golf balls and a few tees for each camper. Campers are encouraged to bring extra balls and tees as needed.
Mountain Boarding $75


Purpose:
It’s new and exciting and the perfect fit for fun at camp. In the Mountain Boarding Skills Track campers will learn safety, skills and tricks for riding mountain boards (a.k.a. All Terrain Boards).
Program Synopsis:
Campers will learn the basics of riding a mountain board. They will learn the safety guidelines and rules as well as the excitement of doing some simple tricks. Beginning boarders will learn simple downhill riding and may advance to more technical riding by the end of the week. Campers will earn awards based on achievements at different levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert).
Mountain boards and safety gear will be provided by camp. Campers who have such euipment are welcome to bring their own, but will be subject to inspection for safety by Camp Victory staff.
Shooting Sports
We are sorry but Shooting Sports Skills Track has been canceled.
Paintball $75

Purpose:
The Paintball Skills Track is designed as a more involved and intensive paintball gaming experience for the camper. The purpose is to develop team play and interaction while creating a safe and fun environment of competition and excitement.
Program Synopsis:
Campers will participate in fun paintball games at Camp Victory’s paintball course and then more advanced games and competitions at Run-n-Gun’s Paintball fields. Some of the advanced fields of play include Speed Ball, Woods Course and others. Each camper involved in this Skills Track will earn an award for their play and competition (Marksmanship, Most Honorable, Longest Innings, Most stealthy, Most marks, etc.) at the end of the week.
Camp Victory will transport campers to and from Run-n-Gun on designated days. Campers in the Paintball Skills Track will be provided with an additional 2,000 rounds of paint and use of equipment. Campers may purchase more rounds after their 2,000 for additional fees. Campers may bring their own equipment. Personal paintball equipment will be kept in a secure location by the camp. Camp Victory is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
Archery Free

Purpose:
The Camp Victory archery program is designed to teach accuracy with the bow and arrow through a variety of environments in a context where campers become concerned for safety and the welfare of others. Campers will learn proper shooting techniques, proper equipment handling and care and the principles behind the shooting process.
Program Synopsis:
Campers will be taught the basics of archery, including lessons from safety to shooting by NAA certified instructors. Levels may be achieved through the archery lessons; beginner, bowman, archer and advanced. Games will be played for archers to exercise what they are learning. We will use straight target shooting at our archery range. We will also participate on our new 3-D archery course and the archery obstacle course field. Campers will earn certification in basic archery instruction as well as awards for different levels of achievements.
Drama Free

Purpose:
Camp Victory’s drama Skills Track will teach the art of drama through practicing skits and discussing basic drama skills. Campers will learn how to use drama to teach and how it fits into the overall plan of ministry. They will produce a skit to be performed at the closing ceremony of camp.
Program Synopsis:
Campers will begin by practicing simple skits and will learn to develop acting and expressive skills. They will learn how to develop and stay in characters, dealing with distractions, stage fright, focus and more. Time will be spent on biblical principles of morality in drama. A key drama, or skit, will be prepared and performed at the closing ceremony of each camp session. Recognitions and awards will be given to all drama participants (Comedian, Expressive, Dramatic, etc.).
Ropes Course Free

Purpose:
High and Low Ropes are intentional activities designed to teach teamwork and build self-confidence. Encouragement is a key element at this event. Campers will learn to apply their activity to dependence on the Lord, as well as how we need each other and cannot live the Christian life without the help and support of other believers.
Program Synopsis:
Campers will get to participate in a complete array of low and high elements throughout the Skills Tracks. The first two days will be spent on low elements, developing teamwork and attitudes. The last three days will move campers to high elements to challenge areas of self-confidence, trust and teamwork. Debriefing will be a key aspect of this Skills Track wherein the class will gather at the end of each day and discuss lessons, insight and thoughts from the day.
Team Sports Free

Purpose:
In the Team Sports Skills Track, campers will learn rules, safety, skills and instruction in Team Sports, such as; soccer, baseball, volleyball and flag football.
Program Synopsis:
Campers will be coached in various team sports and may have opportunity to learn advanced playing skills. We will have quality coaches and instructors on staff to lead training in sports such as Volleyball, soccer, flag football and baseball/softball. Campers will earn completion certificates based on their completion of the Team Sports Skills Tracks. Depending on the interests of the group there may be opportunity to focus all week on a campers favorite sport. Other options will include spending 1-2 days on each sport. If the group is large enough we can have multiple instructors to enable us to coach two different sporst simultaneously to give your camper the best benefit from their Skills Track training.
Nature Free
Purpose:
In an effort to connect campers with God’s natural world and unplug them from their 'inside' lives, the Nature Skills Track strives to open minds while exploring the trails, river, hills and ridges in the land that makes and surrounds Camp Victory.
Program Synopsis:
Our Nature program spans a wide range of activities, from trail hikes to canoe trips. We will spend outdoor "classroom" time doing interactive games to learn about nature and how it works. Daily objectives will be given as kids will learn more about nature, creation and their environment. Outdoor crafts will be incorporated to enhance their learning experience.
